Den Blinde, Gjern (The Blind Girl, Gjern), Ejnar Nielsen (1896 og 1898)
Ejnar Nielsen was a Danish painter and illustrator, central proponent of Symbolist painting in Danish art. He is also known for his large mosaic on Stærekassen, an extension to the Royal Danish Theatre on Kongens Nytorv in Copenhagen.

Ejnar Nielsen was a Danish painter and illustrator, central proponent of Symbolist painting in Danish art. He is also known for his large mosaic on Stærekassen, an extension to the Royal Danish Theatre on Kongens Nytorv in Copenhagen. 

Surströmming, Swedish for “soured herring”, is fermented Baltic sea herring and is a staple of traditional northern Swedish cuisine since at least the 16th century.

Just enough salt is used to prevent the raw fish from rotting (chemical decomposition). A fermentation process (which converts sugar to acids, gases, and alcohol) of at least six months gives the lightly-salted fish its characteristic strong smell and somewhat acidulous taste.

Lenora Christina, Countess Ulfeldt, (Countess Leonora Christina Christiansdatter til Slesvig og Holsten - 8 July 1621 – 16 March 1698), was the daughter of King Christian IV of Denmark and wife of Steward of the Realm-cum–traitor Count Corfitz Ulfeldt. Renowned in Denmark since the 19th century for her posthumously published autobiography, Jammers Minde, written secretly during two decades of solitary confinement in a royal dungeon, the Blue Tower in Copenhagen.
